March 11, 2010

What do the Jolie-Pitt kids have in common with the tiny Afflecks and Alyson Hannigan’s daughter Satyana? They’re all fans of Kicky Pants Bamboo Basics.

The line includes dresses, tees, polos, pjs, pants, and much, much more. Everything is made with bamboo, an eco-friendly fabric that is naturally antibacterial, anti fungal and anti static.  As if that wasn’t enough, it also absorbs water better than cotton, stays 2-3 degrees cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold, and is super soft. Plus, the items are affordable, starting at around $15.

No wonder little Panda’s like Halle Berry’s Nahla and Jessica Alba’s daughter Honor love these trendy duds so much! To find out where Kicky Pants Bamboo Basics are sold near you, click here.

Celeb Moms Say ‘I Love You’ With Tattoos

March 11, 2010

Kelly Ripa made a splash on The Late Show with David Letterman earlier this week when she revealed a new tattoo on her forearm–her husband’s last name, ‘Consuelos’.

But her choice to tattoo a love tribute to her husband and kids isn’t without precedent among the jet set. So what other stars have done it? Check it out…

Angelina Jolie’
s left arm used to bear a picture of a snake and the name of her ex-husband, Billy Bob Thornton. Now, it has been re-purposed to feature the latitude and longitude coordinates of the birthplaces of each of her six kids.

Victoria Beckham, mother of three, has two tattoos dedicated to her soccer star husband, David Beckham–including his initials on the inside of her wrist.

So far, no celebrity dads we know of have taken the plunge. How would you feel if your partner tattooed a tribute to you or your kids?

Mothers (and Fathers) Who Match

March 9, 2010

It’s a universal truth that mornings with young kids are rough. They wake up with a ton of energy and need to be corralled, fed, scrubbed, combed and dressed–all while you get yourself ready and race out the door.

So it is no surprise that occasionally, you get all the way to your kid’s daycare before you realize you and your daughter kind of, well…match. Not on purpose, of course. But there you both are, in jeans and blue sweaters, looking like those goofy families in the Hannah Andersson catalog.

Check out these famous matched sets, and decide for yourself: were these famous parents the victims of an accidental fashion coincidence or are they matching on purpose?

Is Zahara Too Old to Be Sucking Her Thumb?

March 9, 2010
Adorable Zahara Jolie Pitt is, like so many kids, a thumb-sucker.
But according to experts, Angelina and Brad might want to wean the 5-year-old off of ye olde thumb before it’s too late.
“According to the American Dental Association,” says Dr. Greene of drgreene.com, “thumb sucking does not cause permanent problems with the teeth or jaw line unless it is continued beyond 4 to 5 years of age. As it turns out, somewhere between 85% and 99% of children have finished thumb sucking spontaneously before this period.”
Oops.
“Many parents are concerned that thumb sucking at a late age is a sign of emotional immaturity or lack of self-confidence,” continued the doctor, who does not know and was not speaking specifically about Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Brad or Angelina. “When investigators have looked at late thumb suckers for common traits, they found only one thing in common that distinguished them from other children — a prolonged history of a strong battle with thumb sucking at an earlier age. It is striking that many well-meaning parents have actually encouraged thumb sucking by trying to forcibly take the thumb out of their children’s mouths.”
Having trouble with the issue, Brad and Ange? Dr. Greene says try putting a drop of vinegar or pickle juice on the child’s thumb to discourage the sucking. That’ll show her. (posted by COT)(photo from  People.com)
