Style Alert: Faux-Hawk Fabulous

March 11, 2010

More over, Shiloh. There’s a new hair-do in town.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown and her daughter, Phoenix Chi, 11, stepped out this week in mother-daughter faux-hawks. It seems Brown and her younger daughter, Angel Iris, 2, rocked a similar style last summer. Once upon a time, this punky style was considered edgy. Now it has become practially mainstream.

So who else has been recently caught looking faux-hawk fabulous?

None other than Willow Pinkett Smith, the 8-year-old daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett. This winter, she sported a faux to one of the most formal events of the year– The Nobel Prize awards ceremony in Oslo, Norway.

What do you think? Will your kids be swapping pigtails for a faux-hawk this summer?

Celebrity Tot Hotspot: Coldwater Canyon

March 10, 2010

Introducing Lifestyles of the Rich and the Thumbsucking.

Where can you see Gwen Stefani’s children Zuma and Kingston brushing elbows with Sharon Stone’s son Quinn?  It’s called Coldwater Canyon, dah-ling, and it is the ultimate playground destination for little scenesters with A-List parents.

This Los Angeles hotspot is located on North Mulholland Drive and features all the decadent luxuries that an A list child demands. Swings, slides, and teeter-totters scatter the grounds, offering the children a place to play, make new friends, and giggle over how intensely fabulous their life is, as celebrity kids are known to do.

Just a few trendy tots on the scene, according to Celebrity Baby Scoop:

-Halle Berry and daughter Nahla
-Jennifer Garner and daughter Violet and Seraphina
-Jessica Alba and daughter Honor
-Heidi Klum, Seal and their kids Leni, Henry and Johan.
-David Beckham and Victoria Beckham’s kids.

And while the crowd can be VIP, there is no velvet rope so if you’re in the neighborhood, stop by. The park is open from dawn to dusk.

The King of Pop was Tops as a Pop, Say MJ Bodyguards

March 9, 2010

It’s official, Michael Jackson‘s bodyguards have spoken and despite the propofol and plastic surgery  he  ‘really’ was a good dad. (Don’t forget it was bodyguards who dropped dime decades ago about that other King, Elvis Presley’s drug use. The Word of Bodyguards is Gospel, Amen.)

MJ’s last three bodyguards appeared on Good Morning America today to dispel some rumors about Jackson, and share their plans to write a book about their boss, In Defense of the King. No earth shattering info was revealed but here are some MJ parenting highlight ancedotes:

•Jackson was an “awesome” dad who loved spending time with his kids. One of the bodyguards described them as “four buddies.”

•A favorite pastime Jackson enjoyed with his kids was taking them to fast food restaurant drive thrus where Jackson always ordered himself.

•Despite being privileged Michael’s children, The Jackson Three, were always extremely polite and well mannered. Paris once gave the bodyguard a handwritten request for tuna fish for her cat. The note was peppered with plenty of pleases and thank you’s.

Stay tuned for more. Posted by RIR

‘Daddy’ Alec Baldwin Deserves a 2nd Chance

March 9, 2010

I know there was that thing two weeks ago involving Alec Baldwin a phone call, his daughter Ireland (uh oh!) some Ambien and the cops. And nobody can forget the “thoughtless rude little pig comment” voicemail that was heard around the worldwide web. But seriously, when does the statue of limitations run out on bad parenting moment(s)?

The Academy Award co-host Baldwin rocked! He was funny, self-depreciating and had the cutest skits. The actor Alec is the living, breathing heart and soul of 30 Rock (even show creator Tina Fey will admit this, trust me on this.) And well, let’s face it girls he’s ‘still’ a cool drink of water, even though he’s packed on a few pounds since his 80s Working Girl days. I’m sure some of that earnest, imperfect yet sweet demeanor we’ve been witnessing over the past 20 years seeps into his at-home father moments with his daughter. Your parents never uttered a cross word to you, once or twice? C’mon folks, I think it’s time to let Alec and Ireland move on, one day at a time. Posted by RIR
